🌱 How I Built My Garden Bed with Trellis | Simple DIY Garden Setup

In this video, I show step-by-step how I built a strong and simple raised garden bed with a cattle panel trellis. This setup is perfect for growing climbing vegetables like cucumbers, beans, bottle gourd, and tomatoes. It helps save space and keeps plants healthy and organized.

🛠 Detailed Steps to Build the Garden Bed

Step 1: Choose the Right Location
Pick a place in your garden that receives 6–8 hours of sunlight every day. Make sure the ground is fairly level and has good drainage.

Step 2: Prepare the Ground
Clear grass, weeds, and rocks from the area. Place cardboard on the ground where the bed will sit. This helps prevent weeds from growing and naturally breaks down over time.

Step 3: Arrange the Garden Bed Stones
Place the garden bed stones in a rectangular shape. Each garden bed uses 8 stones.
Make sure the stones are aligned and stable before placing the frame.

Step 4: Build the Wooden Frame for Each Bed
To make each garden bed:
Use 4 ft wood pieces and 1.5 ft wood pieces to create the frame. Arrange them into a rectangular shape and secure the corners using Garden stones. Place the wooden frame inside the stone border for extra support. Also, leave a 5 ft gap between two garden beds so you have enough walking space and room to install the trellis.

Step 5: Install the T-Posts
Hammer the 6 ft T-posts into the ground around the garden bed. Place 2 posts on each garden bed corners and along the sides for strong support. Ensure they are firmly secured in the soil.

Step 6: Attach the Cattle Panel Trellis
Take the 16.5 ft cattle panel and position it as a trellis between the beds. Secure it to the T-posts using zip ties. This will support climbing vegetables as they grow.

Step 7: Fill the Bed with Soil and Compost
Fill the bed with garden soil or Miracle-Gro soil. If you have vegetable scraps at home, you can add them as compost to improve soil nutrients.

Step 8: Plant Your Crops
Plant vegetables that grow well on a trellis, such as:
Cucumbers, Beans, Bottle gourd, Bitter gourd, Snake gourd, Butterfly pea, Ridge Gourd, Tindora, Peas

Step 9: Water and Maintain
Water the plants well after planting and guide the vines to climb the cattle panel as they grow.
