CRPH Webinar Series: The economic context of food environments | Session 1.A

The Center for Research on Population and Health at the American University of Beirut (AUB) Lebanon, the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada, and the Institut National de Nutrition et de Technologie Alimentaire (INNTA) in Tunisia organized a 3-part virtual webinar series. This series focused on the SCALE study, which aims to inform context-specific interventions targeting childhood overweight in urban settings of Greater Beirut and Greater Tunis. The ultimate goal is to promote the development of food environments that enable healthy eating habits among children and their families.

In this video, Dr. Jad Chaaban provides a situation analysis of food environments in urban areas of Lebanon and Tunisia, focusing on recent trends and key characteristics of the socioeconomic context that influence food choices in these regions.
