Until now, you may have seen Shiva Lingams being unearthed from beneath the ground. But have you ever seen an entire Shiva temple carved underground and then discovered? In 1997, some laborers were digging the ground when they came across a strange black stone. They initially thought it was a buried Shiva Lingam, placed there deliberately to stop the work. So, they halted the digging. But later, it was discovered that what they were carving out was actually the statue of Nandi Maharaj (the sacred bull and devotee of Lord Shiva). They then reported this to the Archaeological team. The archaeological team found that water was flowing out of the mouth of the Nandi statue. However, no one could identify the source of the water. As the excavation continued, a complete temple slowly emerged from beneath the earth. What was truly astonishing was that the water flowing from the mouth of the Nandi statue was falling directly onto the Shiva Lingam — perfectly aligned. But to this day, no one has been able to understand how water continuously flows from the mouth of Nandi Maharaj's statue.
