The Minn Kota Ulterra trolling motor is the best trolling motor I've ever owned. I've been running the Minn Kota Ulterra trolling motor on my catfish boat for 3+ years and had two different motors and haven't had one single issue. I've had a lot of people reach out to me that are having issues with their Minn Kota Ulterra and like most other marine electronics issues the problem is usually a bad installation or operator error. I've yet to touch one single motor that had issues that were a Minn Kota-related problem.
