We are back with second episode of my journey to build and learn code in public - by heavily leveraging AI (Replit, ChatGPT and Claude).

We very loosely base todays video on Chapter 2 of Automate the Boring Stuff with Python which deals with conditional statements and flow control. We look at a very simple example of this at the start, then we get ai to build us a super simple “Choose Your Own Adventure” story. But because we have an infinite source of stories available within large language models, we end the video by connecting this python program to OpenAi’s ChatGPT API - and have it generate a totally unique Choose Your Own Adventure story based on the choices you make.

This is a super simple and unpolished example, but it does highlight how easy it is to engage with these incredible AI tools even for a total beginner.

Check out “Episode 1” in this series to see where we are starting from, but basically we will browse through the classic python textbook "Automate the Boring Stuff with Python" by Al Sweigart, and we won’t really learn what its talking about, rather we will use the concepts to leap off and see what we can build by leveraging AI and Replit.

No Prior Coding experience is neccessary here - we are starting very basic - because I don't know what I'm doing. I will say this is likely not the best way to learn to use Python, but this is how I'm choosing to forage ahead leaning 95% on AI to code, and I come up with ideas and try to implement them. I believe learning anything about coding will open many doors as the AI models and coding assistants continue to improve. Remember the model you use today is going to be the worst AI model you ever use.
