Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the new Delhi BJP office, stated that under the current tax regime, there is zero tax on incomes up to twelve lakh rupees. He contrasted this with the pre-2014 era, where tax was levied on incomes exceeding two lakh rupees. The Prime Minister highlighted that the combination of Income Tax relief and 'Next Generation GST reforms' will result in annual savings of about ₹2.5 lakh crore for citizens. He said the government is moving forward with the mantra of 'vikas bhee aur virasat bhee' (development and heritage). He also described the BJP's party offices as being equivalent to temples ('devalay'), serving as crucial links between the party and public expectations.
