I had no idea that Ghouls or a Ghoul for that matter was a real creature. I know Ghouls are present in the Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 ( All Fallout Games Too ) The Ghoul comes from Arabian Folklore which is a big Urban Legend for them. Plus the Ghoul Cryptid creature is very dominant in various Folklore & Mythology.

According to folklore, Ghouls are crafty shapeshifters and take on the forms of animals in order to lure unwary people into their territory so that they may devour them. Ghouls have appeared in many works of popular culture including, video games, literature and films. Due to the Ghouls nature of feeding on humans and lingering in graveyards, ghouls have sometimes been misconceived as being related to vampires or zombies.

Ghouls who are well-fed on humans are indistinguishable from normal humans. The longer a ghoul goes without feeding, the less human it looks. A ghoul in the later stages of starvation will be extremely thin and pale, with veins clearly visible through the skin, and will have long, claw-like nails.
