Trauma and lymph work.

This is a powerful one. So deeply healing.

I can’t tell you how many people honor me with their tears during our sessions. I just tell people ahead of time now. Prepare them for memories or emotions. The things people share with me are so beautiful. When we’re processing grief, a couple of times their has been a loved one that came through and shared a sign that it was them.

This is not something I learned about in massage school. The “Woo-Woo” that I immediately dismissed early in the career because I was all about the sCiEnCe…well— I’m still very much about the science except that I am more aware that not everything needs scientific evidence. Some things just have to be felt to be proven. Because there’s too much magic to summarize. Labels are boring, anyway…

Based on my personal experience with sharing this soul work with people in my massage practice, I highly recommend it anyone for trauma healing specifically.

I have slowly collected a small client base of psychotherapists that see this work for what it is and they’re super excited about it. Like really excited.

We need more research about the deep connection here between the lymphatics and our nervous system. Because maybe medication isn’t always the answer for people. Sometimes they have to physically and mentally untie something simultaneously

There is promising data regarding the healing powers of MLD that would transform the mental health space and how we help ourselves and each other heal in totality.

Try some super intentional self lymphatic work (set the stage, get some music going, practice visualization exercises) or better yet; try to find a MLD certified massage therapist with a soft spot for trauma informed work. That’s the recipe right there. If they do fascial work too please send them our way— they’re hired.
