IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST VISIT:
Welcome! I am Wendla Schwartz, MD, a physician, a board-certified psychiatrist and a child psychiatrist. I started this PsychTalk to provide mental health information to folks (mostly patients and family members) who might otherwise go without it. In the process, I've discovered my videos are helpful to medical students, social workers, therapists, residents, and just about anyone interested in learning more about psychiatric signs and symptoms, psychiatric medications, mental illness, DSM 5 TR diagnostic criteria, brain development, childhood trauma, personality disorders, etc. Through these videos, I will also be exploring the brain and human behavior as related to issues currently relevant in our society. In future videos, I will be personally discussing as well as interviewing other experts on topics such as depression, bipolar disorder, suicide, PTSD, eating disorders, family issues, personality disorders, psychology, child therapy, substance abuse, psychoeducational testing, learning disorders, autism and lots more. We will also spend some time talking about one of my favorite subjects: writing! I hope you stick around and subscribe. If you have suggestions or questions please comment and I will be sure to answer and possibly post videos on the topics as well!
I am committed to providing straightforward, up-to-date, accurate medical information in an efficient, intelligent, and hopefully entertaining format.
Let’s work together to increase mental health awareness, improve education regarding mental illness and feel better together!
