How to change a front shock strut on VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT 7 (362) 2.0 Saloon 2010–2014 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Shock strut on AUDI A3 Schrägheck (8P1) (05.2003 - 08.2012) / SEAT Leon II Schrägheck (1P1) (07.2005 - 12.2012) / SKODA Octavia II Combi (1Z5) (02.2004 - 06.2013) / VW Jetta Mk6 (162, 163, AV3, AV2) (04.2010 - ...) cars should be changed, as a rule, according to one and the same procedure.
However, there can be slight differences due to specific features of the vehicle design.

01:36 — Unscrew the wheel bolts.
03:27 — Disconnect the ball joint from the arm.
04:18 — Remove the suspension strut.
05:41 — Remove the shock absorber dust cap and the bump stop.
05:55 — Install the new shock absorber on the hydraulic coil spring compressor.
07:20 — Install the shock strut into the wheel arch.
08:21 — Remove the support from under the steering knuckle.
09:12 — Tighten the brake hose fastening bracket to the shock strut.
10:16 — Screw in the wheel bolts.
11:11 — Treat the fasteners of the shock strut mount.
