Bhamakalapam-Kuchipudi natyam- Sage Siddendhra Yogi- Padmabushan Dr Vempati Chinna Satyam

Siddhendra Yogi ranks foremost amongst Kuchipudi doyens, through his contribution of the jewel, Bhama Kalapam. In this the performer places himself in the position of Sathyabhama, who was feeling the pangs of separation or vipralamba viraha.Thus, he composed the Bhama Kalapam,
hallmark of Kuchipudi.
𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝- Siddhendra yogi inducted only young Brahmin boys to learn Bhama Kalapam. The boys in turn promised that every newborn male in their family will continue this tradition. Later these disciples and Siddhendra yogi settled down at a village called Kuchela or Kuchelapuram, popular known as Kuchipudi village.
