Start to finish restoration of this awesome 1974 Jaguar XKE V12.

Here's a bit about the work we did to this fantastic car...

This video shows the restoration of a Series 3 V12 E-Type our client purchased from a Bonhams Auction in 2014 that had previously been in a car collection in Qatar for at least 20 years, in many ways a good thing because the car was very solid with minimal rust, our client commissioned us to restore the car from 2014 - 2018, an epic build for us because the client insisted on a No Compromise build, he simply wanted the best E-Type he could get.

We completely stripped the car out then was acid dipped by Envirostrip who use Phosphoric acid and not the ones typically used in all the horror stories you hear about.

When we got it back we took care of the few areas of corrosion which amounted to both heel boards needing replacement and a few repairs to the floors where the car had been lifted on trolley jacks in the past and then spent considerable time ensuring perfect panel gaps, everything had to be spot on. Even the replacement lower front nose section got attention - the side light mountings weren't level so the spot welds drilled out and re positioned with a laser level, it's all those little details that take time.

It was then levelled to ensure a perfectly straight body, primed, block sanded then re-primed and painted in various stages.

The client insisted on minimal visible stonechip so only the wheelhouses were treated with none to the underside, the client wanted it to look as good as the outside.

The car came with a factory hardtop and was prepared and painted in matching Azure Blue.
All exterior bodywork was lightly sanded then flow coated then colour sanded before a final buff up.

Lots of upgrades on the refit side with Ohlin suspension all round, at the time Ohlins did not produce coil overs for the S3 so between Eagle E-Types and Prestige Paintworks we commissioned the first two sets to be made for the S3 the first set being on this car.

It has one off Turrino wires specifically tailored to our requirements with AP Racing brakes all round and various of other performance and handling improvements.

The results are truly spectacular and when displayed on our stand at the 2019 Goodwood Revival received nothing but praise for the quality of the build and look forward to restoring another one.
