OUAT ~ Rumplestiltskin and Cora ~ Red and Bittersweet

Cora and Rumpelstiltskin. The bittersweetness of their relationship is in the voiceovers and subtitles (yeah.. love them.. not, the subtitles). They started off their relationship as she was imprisoned in King's palace after she'd lied she was capable of producing gold from straw. She had already been humiliated by princess Ava and the king, so she craved for revenge and above all power. She truly loved Rumpel but decided to rip out her heart to be able to get that power and Rumpel was her weakness ("Love is weakness", as the king said). The irony and bitterness in all this is that Rumpelstiltskin himself taught her how to and supported her all the way, but how could he have foreseen she would rip out her own heart because of him, all in order to complete her revenge. Oh by the way, they also tried to kill each other and in the end Rumpel succeeded via Mary Margaret.

I am particularly proud of the part of the video with "crossword" lyrics, and ppl who watch the show will understand that the question "Whose heart is in the box" indeed doesn't have the right answer - not for Rumpelstiltskin who loved her so that on his dying bed he had to ask "Did you ever love me". (tearing up)

Trivia about making this vid: after cutting the song to 2.27 I actually started with the last scene when Rumpel pays his respects to Cora.

Ah subtitles. I always say try to shut them out because the video flows so much better without them and whatever I do with them I find them so distracting. However, when Rumpel talks, it's mostly whispering so even with all the effects I somehow have the feeling his voiceovers can't be heard properly and I have to add subtitles though I try not to if the voiceovers are audible. I really dislike subtitles..
