Bertie the A30 and Weyman Alfa special SSVVVC Open Run 19 May 2024

Both did very well today and the weather was quite hot. Annual classic and vintage run from The Midsteeple Dumfries to Kirkcudbright via the coast road. Longest run Bertie the 1954 A30 has done since purchase. And there was another also1954 but a 4 door 803cc from Dundee.
Post script: Following on the run at the suggestion of my passenger after seeing the gear selector gate giving some difficulty in Dumfries town centre traffic with some hill starts I have removed it and find it easier to cleanly select the correct gear as a conventional ball change. I had been under the belief it was there for some good reason rather than simply as a retro detail. I should have tried it without ages ago as the gear shifting through that gate has always been a tad awkward but with so many vehicles and fresh projects always arriving in the collection I didn't quite get round to it. I'm only just getting round to fitting MX5 seats in the Pilgrim Bulldog after 5 years with MGB seats that are too big to adjust back as far I would like with 33" legs. The Series 3 landy is even worse the bonnet is still blue or it would be if most of the paint hadn't worn away and the dash is still mostly missing after a decade of use with me.
