I wrote this ukulele song in my early 20’s about an on again off again friends to lovers to entangled mess type of relationship. I wrote a lot during that part of my life, but this song reminds me of some of the best of those times between the California coast and Hawaii. There was a lot of tumultuous emotions then and I often felt like a storm at sea, but life itself was simple and beautiful. Music, nature, and artistic expression were the primary drivers for everything we did and even in the hardest parts of it, I can’t help but think of those memories fondly.
