The video provides two exercises that help to regulate the nervous system and ground you. Somatic simply means “of the body.” A naturalistic, and neurobiological, body-oriented approach to healing traumas, and other stress related issues; restoring the authentic-self with self-regulation, relaxation, wholeness, and aliveness.
These techniques return us to the mind-body connection, using a body first approach, to help address both physical and psychological symptoms. These techniques help us to notice the body sensations stemming from emotional or mental health issues.
