When it comes to tag team wrestling, The Rockers were very influential during their time in the WWE. Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty redifined what tag team wrestling could when they brought their new innovative styles to WWF TV shows during the late 80s and early 90s.

The relationship between Marty Jannetty and Shawn Michaels first began in the NWA's Central States All-Star Wrestling territory back in the mid 80s, but it wouldn't be until the team were reunited in the AWA a year later that The Midnight Rockers began making a name for themselves. Becoming very popular with fans and the wrestling media, Michaels and Jannetty soon found themselves in the WWF, although their first stint didn't go too well when Vince McMahon decided to fire the team.

After going back to the AWA and also working in Memphis, The Midnight Rockers were brought back to the WWF and renamed simply as The Rockers. From here, the team would find even more popularity as they had a string of exciting wrestling matches against the likes of The Hart Foundation, The Brain Busters and The Rougeau Brothers to name a few.
