Mix Up A Delicious Brown Derby Cocktail!

Today we are mixing up the Brown Derby! This classic cocktail was created in the 1930’s at the Vendome Club in Los Angeles. Nearby the club there was a diner called the Brown Derby that was shaped like a derby hat and the rest is history.

If you’re looking for an optional brunch cocktail to try, this would be a great option. The bourbon is softened by the honey syrup and tartness of the fresh juices.

Ingredients

2 oz Bourbon
1 oz Fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
1 oz Fresh Squeezed lemon juice
½ oz Honey syrup
*Just mix equal parts honey and hot water to make the syrup
Grapefruit for garnish

Instructions

Add all of your ingredients into a cocktail shaker along with some ice and shake for 20 to 30 seconds.
Double strain into a chilled coupe and enjoy.
