Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive Bearing Replacement

Описание к видео Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive Bearing Replacement

Our Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive is getting on in years so its not surprising it sounds like a freight train coming through the house when it gets to the spin cycle. I decided to do something about it, so I ordered a seal and bearing kit from Steve's Appliance Repairs for about $35 including freight.

And then set about removing the old bearings and seal and installing the new ones.
Aside from the bearing kit you should really have a 32mm spanner and a Bearing/Seal driver kit. I didn't either, so used a pipe wrench to remove the nut from the bottom of the agitator shaft and used the old bearings and a large socket to protect the new bearing while tapping it into place.

While I had the inner and outer bowl out of the machine, I took the opportunity to clean them. The holes in the inner bowl have a tendency to block up over time and if this gets too extreme it can inhibit the water escaping from the clothes as the machine goes into the spin cycle, this can cause the machine to go out of balance. (as we discovered about a year ago).

Hoping this might be helpful to anyone else that needs to replace the bearings in the F&P Smart Drive
