Waldteufel’s Tres Jolie (very pretty) waltz in D major Op.159 was composed in 1878. It contains 6 main sections including an introduction, waltzes n.1-4 and a coda with a total of 344 bars (as played 480 bars).

0:09 The introduction part contains 16 bars, starting with the theme of waltz n.1 then follow by a short theme of waltz n.2 .

0:49 Waltz No.1 contains 51 bars (as played 80 bars in complete version) with 2 themes (semplice, scherzando), both have repetitions, and a coda which lead to waltz n.2 .

2:01 Waltz No.2 contains 44 bars (as played 80 bars in complete version) with 2 themes (con fuoco, espressivo), both have repetitions. The last bar of the second theme leads to waltz n.3 .

3:11 Waltz No.3 contains 37 bars (as played 64 bars in complete version) with 2 themes (grazioso, unmarked), both have repetitions. This part takes place in the key of G major, different from the other parts.

4:04 Waltz No.4 contains 52 bars (as played 96 bars in complete version) with 2 themes (leggiero, grandioso), both have repetitions. This part returns to the key of D major.

5:29 The coda contains 144 bars starts with a short introduction then the return of the themes from waltz n.1 and waltz n.2 . Then followed by a new theme but in the similar style of waltz n.3 and another return of waltz n.1 . The last part is the true coda with D major chords and octaves descending arpeggio.
