Anne Rice Memorial Second Line Parade

For many years, some of Anne Rice's most devoted fans have gathered in New Orleans on Halloween weekend for the Anne Rice Vampire Ball. In 2022, for the first time, the event takes place in the absence of the writer herself. We'll be present as the community pays their respects in local style with a memorial second line parade. It begins at Washington and Prytania, in view of Lafayette Cemetery #1, a place that figured into her upbringing and her novels, and the Garden District Book Shop, where she did her local book signing events.
