On “My Car Story” we're in Rosemont IL at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals on 11-22-24.

We're looking at a 1961 Studebaker Hawk in Flamingo Paint. The car comes with the 289 CI V8 engine and an automatic transmission.

The car's Owner is Pete Wendt. Pete’s had this car since 1994. Pete shares a touching story how he and his wife Jackie would go to car shows and he said if you find a car you like I can restore it. After many car shows she saw the car for her! A “Flamingo” painted 1961 Studebaker Hawk. She knew that was the car for her. In 1994 they purchased this car, and Pete started on the restoration with all the options she required on her car. Sadly, Jackie passed away and never saw her car completed. Pete finished the car, and shows the car in her memory, and likes to share details on “Jackie’s Car”. He’s done a great job on the restoration and the car and now it looks showroom new.
