Описание к видео Arctic Ocean - How Big is The Arctic Ocean Actually ?

The Arctic Ocean, the Smallest of the world's five major oceans. It is located in the Northern Hemisphere and is almost completely surrounded by North America and Eurasia, including the countries of Russia, Norway, Iceland, Greenland, Canada and the United States. The north pole is situated in the middle of the Arctic ocean. Arctic Ocean is the smallest of the world's oceans covering just over 3 percent of the Earth's total surface area. The Arctic Ocean contains 1.4% of all the world’s ocean water. The Arctic Ocean has the lowest level of salinity out of the 5 world’s oceans. The Arctic Ocean is a circular basin,It is almost 1.5 times the United States of America's size, but slightly smaller than Russia.

The Arctic Ocean is dominated by the polar climate, characterized by lower temperatures. Winters are extremely cold, with frequent low temperatures, stable weather conditions, and polar nights. The Arctic Ocean is almost completely covered by ice in the winter and remains partially covered in ice throughout the entire year.During the winter, up to 18 million square kilometres of ocean is covered by sea ice, but by the end of summer, only about 3 million square kilometers of sea ice remain.
However, as the Earth's climate is changing ,There has been a drastic change in the Arctic environment, over the last few decades , the Arctic has warmed more than twice as quickly as the rest of the world. Arctic ice thinning is a major concern for environmentalists and countries around the ocean. It is expected that, by the late 2030s, the Arctic Ocean could be largely free of sea ice during summers.
