How to Deep Clean, Upgrade & Replace Keyboard on eMachines e732

Welcome back! In this video, we're diving into a detailed restoration of an old eMachines e732 laptop. We'll go through deep cleaning, upgrading parts, and replacing the keyboard to ensure everything works perfectly.

First, we prepare by removing the battery and the DVD optical drive using the iFixit Essential Electronics Toolkit. Next, we remove the screws and take off the back cover to reveal the accumulated dust. We disconnect various components, including the flex cables, old hard disk, heat sink, RAM, CMOS battery, LCD video cable, and CPU.

With everything disassembled, it's time for a deep clean. Using a portable keyboard vacuum cleaner and a soft brush, we remove the dust. For hard-to-reach areas, we use cotton buds dipped in isopropyl alcohol. After cleaning the heat sink and removing the old thermal paste, we prepare for the upgrades.

We install a new Kingston 240GB SSD and replaced the old keyboard. Reassembling the laptop involves reconnecting all components, applying fresh thermal paste to the CPU, and screwing everything back in place.

Finally, we ensure everything is securely reattached, including the LCD, RAM sticks, and the DVD optical drive. With the brand-new keyboard installed and everything cleaned and upgraded, our old, dusty laptop is transformed into a cleaner, more efficient machine.
