The Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR), in collaboration with the National Center for Mobility Management (NCMM) and the Florida Department of Transportation's District 1 office (FDOT D1), organized a comprehensive and insightful webinar as part of their ongoing technical assistance project. This session was designed to provide a platform for sharing knowledge, fostering dialogue, and promoting best practices in the field of mobility management.
The webinar was held virtually on May 18, 2023, and covered a wide range of topics. Kelly Schneider, the Social Services Mobility Coordinator for Johnson County, IA, presented on travel training, discussing the demographics of Johnson County, the services provided by the Social Services Department, the cost-sharing model for the Mobility Coordinator position, and the use of transit technology.
The West Central Missouri Community Action Agency shared its vision and mission, which aims to help people and communities reach their fullest potential by coordinating resources, building partnerships, and advocating for change. They also outlined the development timeline of their model, the lack of transportation infrastructure, and the demand and supply of public transit.
Michelle Griffin, the Mobility Manager for North Central Kansas, discussed the structure, roles, and achievements of mobility managers in Kansas. She highlighted the importance of collaboration and coordination in public transit, the use of shared platforms and events to promote mobility, and the communication methods used by mobility managers.
Enjoli Dixon from NCMM at Easterseals and Steven Workman, a consultant for NCMM at Easterseals and Director of Transport New Hampshire, discussed the Mobility Management Sustainability Assessment Tool (MM-SAT). The tool helps mobility management professionals measure the overall sustainability of their programs, identify different dimensions of sustainability, focus efforts to increase sustainability, and make data-driven strategic decisions.
This event forms a crucial part of CUTR's project with FDOT, serving as a key training element aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of participants, thereby contributing to the overall progress of the project.
