Lastly, Hon Kiili Dan Karitho, MP for Igembe Central Constituency, together with his wife Dr. Nancy Kiili, joined the faithful of St. Vivian Mukorene AIPCA Church for the ordination of Deacon Antony Laban Antony Laban into the office of Deacon in Akirang’ondu Ward.
In his address, Hon. Kiili, speaking on behalf of his family and the people of Igembe Central, congratulated the newly ordained Deacon for achieving this great spiritual milestone. He assured him of his full support as a father and mentor.
The MP encouraged young men to emulate such bold steps — not only in spiritual service but also in leadership and civic engagement. He urged them to ensure they possess national identification cards and voter’s cards so that they can actively participate in shaping the future of their community through the ballot.
As a member and Elder of the AIPCA Church, Hon. Kiili appreciated the church’s steadfast prayers and support for his leadership.
Reflecting on the recent visit by President William Samoei Ruto, to Igembe Central, Hon. Kiili thanked the national government for the ongoing and planned developments in the region, including the upgrade of the Kiengu–Nthambiro–Kanjoo–Meru National Park (Kore) Road to bitumen standard. He urged his constituents to continue supporting the government, noting that collaboration and unity are key to attracting more development projects.
Using a familiar analogy, he said, “The cow at home is the one we feed with good pasture so that it can produce enough milk for the farmer. The government of today has our milk — development, security, education, roads, electricity, and more. We must fully support it, especially now that our own son, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, holds a key position in national leadership.”
Hon. Dan Kiili - MP, encouraged young people to enroll in the Nyota Program, noting that it will offer life-changing opportunities for youth empowerment. The program aims to support 70 young people per ward, enabling them to start and grow sustainable businesses. Interested participants can enroll by dialing *254#.
In his remarks, Hon. Kiili emphasized the importance of education as the ultimate light for community transformation, urging parents, students, and leaders to join hands in supporting education by all means.
He also condemned the rising cases of early pregnancies among school-going girls in Igembe Central, calling upon parents, the administration, and the government to work together in addressing this challenge that threatens the future of the girl child.
Concluding his speech, Hon. Kiili reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to working closely with the church, acknowledging its vital role in shaping moral values and strengthening community bonds. He urged the faithful to continue praying for and with him as he remains dedicated to serving and transforming Igembe Central.
Hon. Kiili expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mukorene AIPCA Church for their steadfast support, prayers, and confidence in his leadership, as well as for re-electing him for a second term.
“May God bless Igembe Central Constituency,” he concluded.
The event was graced by Presiding Bishop Njogu and Area Bishop Sammy Lithia, among other clergy and faithful.
