The law of conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created nor be destroyed. But, it can be converted from one form to the other.

Some forms of energy are kinetic energy, potential energy, thermal (heat energy), nuclear energy and light energy.

Kinetic energy = 1/2 mv^2
Gravitational potential energy = mgh

Work: It is the product of force and the distance (in the direction of the force).

Work done = f x d

Power is the amount of work done or the energy transferred in one second.

P = E / t or W / t
