Dr. Muhammad Sabieh Anwar, an Associate Professor at LUMS, played a key role in founding the physics department and its experimental facilities. His research spans spintronics, magnetism, and optics. Dr. Anwar, General Secretary of the Khwarizmi Science Society, aims to popularize science at grassroots levels. Before joining LUMS in 2007, he was a post-doc at UC Berkeley and a Rhodes Scholar PhD student at Oxford University. He received the TWAS medal in physics in 2008 and the National Innovation Prize in 2015.
