Thanks to our Instagram follower for this tip request asking if it is more common than rare to have to reapply to PT School.

While we don’t have current PTCAS data for the current number of reapplicants each application cycle, I can say from my personal experience that we work with reapplicants every year. I would estimate that between 20-30% of our customers in a given year are reapplicants.

But here is the thing folks! I don’t want any of you to be reapplicants! Here @ptappco we pride ourselves on helping applicants get accepted on their first try when applying to PTCAS, and helping reapplicants to get accepted during the first cycle they work with us. Here are some common reasons why reapplicants tell us why they weren’t successful the first time applying to PT school:

1.They applied “just to see if they could get in”.
2. They did not have a plan and were not organized.
3. They were wishing for acceptance rather than working toward it.
4. They did not have help from someone who was experienced./They took advice from people who had also reapplied multiple times but hadn’t gotten accepted
5. They rushed their application and put everything together at the last minute.

After I put all these together and applying this way just sounds like a bad idea doesn’t it?

The good news is you don’t have to be a reapplicant! You can do things the right way, but you need a focused and intentional plan to help get you there! Seek your information from the best sources and then get to work well ahead of when you hope to apply.
