In this short video I explain what negative keyword lists are, and how to use negative keyword lists in Google Ads (as well as demonstrating two ways to access this helpful, time-saving tool within the Google Ads interface).

If you find you are constantly having to use the same negative keywords across multiple campaigns, or there are certain words/phrases you'll always want to block from future campaigns, then using negative keyword lists is the way to go.

A common scenario for using negative keyword lists in Google Ads is looking to block "career" terms. For example, it's really common to find in search term reports that you are getting a percentage of your budget directed to searches relating to career opportunities, salary/pay-scale information etc. You might wish to block this type of activity across all current campaigns (and want a way to easily do so for any future search campaigns you're looking to create) and negative keyword lists make this much easier than adding the same negative keywords to each campaign on an individual basis.
