Описание к видео Pablo Picasso's “The Cubist Period” (1909-1914)

Pablo Picasso “The Cubist Period (1909-1910)”

In the early 20th century, Cubism which is considered an avant-garde art movement, revolutionized European painting and sculpture and inspired related movements. Cubism analyzed is breaking up and reassembling subjects in an abstract form instead of a single viewpoint; the artist depicts the subject from a multitude of viewpoints representing the subject with a greater context. The pioneers of the movement were Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. Braque was involved with the Fauvist during this time, which was the first avant-garde movement of the 20th century. Still, one primary influence of Cubism was the three-dimensional representation form of Paul Cezanne’s late works and an inspiration to both artists. Braque was the only artist Picasso had ever worked with in his long career, but their innovative style was profound in the development of the Cubist movement.

The development of Analytical Cubism was between 1908 and 1912. Analytic cubists analyzed natural forms into basic geometric shapes or forms like cylinders, spheres, and cones on a two-dimensional plan where color is almost non-existent except for monochromatic uses, which would include grey, blue, and ochre. Instead of the emphasis on color, the focus was on the form. Cubist works produced at this time by Picasso and Braque had a uncanny stylistic similarities.

From 1912 to 1914, Synthetic Cubism began when artists added textures and patterns to their work and started experimenting with collage newspaper and print. Synthetic Cubism was about breaking down the subject into the fragmentation of the image, eliminating any trace of three-dimensional space.
