About the game:
Lost Patrol, also known as The Lost Patrol, is a survival action role-playing game with strategy elements developed by the team Shadow Development and published by Ocean Software for the Amiga and Atari ST computers in 1989. A DOS version was also created by Astros Productions.

Gameplay:
The game is set during the Vietnam War in 1966 when a U.S. helicopter returning troops from a R&R break in Saigon crashes in a remote area of the Central Highlands. Seven American survivors of the crash have no radio and face the task of trekking across 58 miles of harsh terrain infested with booby traps and enemies and make their way to the nearest U.S. military outpost at Du Hoc.

The player assumes the role of Sergeant Charlie Weaver, who takes charge of the survivors (one or more of whom can be randomly injured from the crash). The player must learn the characteristics of the team, as completing the mission may hinge upon character reactions to the player's decisions, and then try to keep the group's morale high (or risk desertions or even being fragged) and fatigue low, managing the dwindling resources (food rations, ammunition, hand grenades and Claymore mines) and fending off the enemy. The game also features several types of action sequences.

About the run:
Lost Patrol is a true Amiga classic, which was on my bucket list for a long time.
Even if you basically just control a red dot on a map screen it is still is an immersiv experience, because everything can happen on every step you take.
I think this is not very entertaining to watch, but I had a really good time running this game and saving all my soldiers.
The encounters with the VC is totally random and even if I did retreat from all of them it was possible that my Leader or one of my Soldiers could badly wounded or get killed.
The trick is to take a rest as often as you can.
Every rest does boost the moral and the strenght slightly so your Soldiers wont turn against you so quickly.
Also if you rest less then an hour you wont lose any rations so thats why I was taking so much short breaks during the night.
I was trying to minimize the breaks and move more often in a row, but most of the time before I was reaching Hu Doc some of my Soldiers killed me with a knife or a grenade (I am talking to you Case!).
So thats why I played it save and let my mates rest.
In this run I was alos lucky to cross the streets without running into a booby trap which is also rng.
Anyway have fun watching.

Btw: The music still is awsome, really loving it.
