CLIMBING ABOVE THE CLOUDS (kilimanjaro day 5)

We finally did it! We out climbed the clouds after leaving Karanga Camp, passing through Barafu Camp, and arriving at Kosovo Camp! The climb was steep today as we gained 3,000 meters in elevation. We started out in the misty clouds of Karanga Camp, where we hiked for what seemed like forever in the wet, damp conditions. After gaining some significant altitude, the clouds began to break, the sun shown through, and our spirits were lifted! Upon arrival at Kosovo Camp, we looked out to see a blanket of clouds covering the valley below. As the evening came on, the floor of clouds thinned and we knew the summit hike would provide an incredible view!

Today was our last day hike up to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. We will catch a brief nap after dinner, before gearing up to start the summit hike at midnight, hoping to summit in time for the sunrise! Stay tuned for the summit in our next video!
