In this Science (Physics) video in Hindi for Class 9 we explained motion of a body under the influence of gravity. This is a topic from Chapter 10 - 'Gravitation' for class 9th from NCERT.

We have to use the kinematic equations in such situations. We also solved some numerical problems in this video. We solved four questions.

𝐸𝑥𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒 1. A ball is dropped from the top of a building. It reaches the ground in 3 𝑠. Find
(i) the velocity with which it strikes the ground.
(ii) the height of the building.
Let 𝑔 = 10 𝑚𝑠⁻²

𝐸𝑥𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒 2. A ball is thrown downwards with velocity 3 𝑚/𝑠 from the top of a building. It reaches the ground in 2 𝑠. Find
(i) the velocity with which it strikes the ground.
(ii) the height of the building.
Let 𝑔 = 10 𝑚𝑠⁻²

𝐸𝑥𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒 3. A ball is thrown downwards with velocity 30 𝑚/𝑠 from the top of a building of height 80 𝑚. Find the velocity with which it strikes the ground. Let 𝑔 = 10 𝑚𝑠⁻²

𝐸𝑥𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒 10.2 (from NCERT) A car falls off a ledge and drops to the ground in 0.5 𝑠. Let 𝑔 = 10 𝑚𝑠⁻² (for simplifying the calculations).
(i) What is its speed on striking the ground?
(ii) What is its average speed during the 0.5 s?
(iii) How high is the ledge from the ground?
