146. Wheel Throwing Swirlware Pottery with Multiple Colors of Stoneware

Swirlware - or Agateware, as some call it, is a wonderful wheel throwing technique where you combine different colors of clay. When you wheel throw them into each other it creates swirly patterns.

So the colors with Swirlware is not created with glazes - but different colors of clay. Most often Swirlware pottery just gets a clear glaze in the end, tp seal it and make it food safe.

In this video I will show you how you can use different colors of stoneware and porcelain to create Swirlware. Some is based on the natural clay colors and in a few I color the white clay with a pottery body stains.

After these pots have been bisque fired I will glaze them. I will show you the final results in one of my next videos.
