Last train on the Packers Hill Railway

Описание к видео Last train on the Packers Hill Railway

August 2014 and with Vale View Farm - my father Patrick Henshaw's former home - about to be sold at public auction, we cleared the track and ran some last trains on the 7.25" Packers Hill Miniature Railway. This video was taken on a phone and had been long forgotten until August 2017, when we finally got it onto a hard-drive.
The first short trip takes the left fork at the power-operated points down to the yard alongside the farmhouse. Then both trains reverse back beyond the points, and set them for the right-hand road down to the wood, a quarter of a mile away. We then trundle off down the 1:30 gradient, over some rather dubious bridges and round some rather exciting curves.
A wonderful day that will be remembered fondly by all concerned. The line was a genuine miniature agricultural tramway.
Richard Ellam is driving his own 'tram' on the video. We had only taken it there a few weeks before, and were delighted at the way it handled the sometimes challenging track. Not one derailment.
