What a fucking ride. I originally started this level in early April of 2024, as a bet with a friend of mine. I wanted to prove him I wasn't washed at the game yet and that I could do good progress on a top 20 in 3 days, so I started playing this level and I got 66% within 3 days, but then everything went downhill.
After this progress, I wanted to do more and I managed to do 79 not many days later, but I never realized how stuck I would get after this progress, I did not make any progress at all for many days, so I ended up dropping this level. This would prove later to be my biggest mistake ever, as I went on and off on this level for a year and a half afterwards. Grinding attempts, doing very slow progress if you could even call it that. I managed to get 88% after a very small session a month ago, and ended up dropping again. Now that I finished my studies, I realized I got all the time in the world to actually focus on it and try to not drop it, so that's what I did. After my natural disaster completion, which is around 2 weeks ago, I started grinding this level again and I have to admit it wasn't the worst times ever, but I was struggling mentally to keep going with this level as I just don't think I have the right mindset when it comes to hardest demons.
I had one objective while trying to beat the level, which was to beat it in less attempts than Tartarus, which had taken me 45k attempts in 2021. I'm honestly ashamed because I have failed and took around 51k attempts on this level, which can be explained by the fact I have done a billion sessions spread through a year and a half, but to me I just see it as being a bit washed so i'm a bit disappointed.
The last 2 weeks have been such a struggle for me, I had to force myself to play the level every single day in order to keep my consistency up and sometimes I'd do 15 minutes sessions and thats it. It improved MASSIVELY during the last 2 days tho, I think i unblocked some shit in me idk but I started doing 1h sessions and I was actually doing so many good attempts. I've had in total 9 deaths at the last cube (96% twice being the furthest) and 7 deaths in the ship, which I consider pretty average.
I want to say this level is good, I want to say i enjoyed it, I want to say it so bad but I just can't, this level has been way too much of a struggle for me to have any enjoyment on it. I'd recommend it if you're already pretty good at the game, but thats it.
Now I'd like to talk about the level itself, and I have so many things to say: first, I want to talk about what the hardest game mode of this level is, as I have seen many people say different things on it. I'd say, and I mean it, that this level 20% swingcopter, 70% cube and 10% ship. The cubes felt actually brutal, by far the hardest timings I have ever done in this game, and almost all of them felt particularly inconsistent. I can't just forget about the swingcopter at 45% tho, as it is the only swingcopter in the level and pretty clearly the biggest chokepoint of the whole level. Every click felt extremely inconsistent at first, and it only got very consistent towards the end. The last cube was the run killer tho, especially the beginning, the first few percentages are so unbelievably hard to me lmao. Also, I'd like to talk about the balancing of this level and adress the biggest lie I've been fed, this level is NOT second half heavy. Thats just not true, during my last sessions over 300 attempts I reached the second half maybe 20-25 times. I was able to do 48-100 once every 10-15 attempts too, like, idk it just isn't second half heavy at all lmao, if the halves swapped this level would be moved up by atleast 10 spots and I'm sure of it.
Now for the difficulty, well what do you want me to say? It's my hardest by a landslide lmao, of course its harder than sonic wave infinity, I can't say much at all, this is top 1 tho.
