How to re-bed your keel: what NOT to do

Описание к видео How to re-bed your keel: what NOT to do

Over the past couple of weeks I have managed to get my keel resurfaced and firmly re-attached to the hull. I made so many easily-avoidable mistakes, in this video, watch how I get the keel back on, and let me tell you about everything you should NOT do when you put your keel back on.

Make sure you have enough epoxy/sealant on hand!
Make sure you use the correct epoxy hardener!
Don't let the keel come back down once you have lifted it into the epoxy or sealant!
Make sure your keel is aligned to the vertical axis of the boat!
Buy the right tools for the job, or borrow your friends' (thanks Dan!)

Estimated Costs (your mileage may vary):
$700 yard/lift costs (in San Carlos, Mexico)
$300 raw materials (epoxy and sealant)
$120 new 316 stainless nuts/washers/lock rings
$100 new backing plates (304 stainless, 3/16 thickness)
$300 tools (torque wrench, XL socket set, drive extensions)
