Did my garlic survive winter?

This past winter has been one of the harshest on record. We have cold snaps of -10C for days on end and record snowfalls - so much so that the garlic babies have been buried under more than a foot of snow for more than a month! Last year, my garlic poked through the surface in late-January but this year the garlic is still buried under the snow from winter in their bed of compost, worm castings, and mulch. So, it got me wondering, is my garlic surviving down there under all this snow?!
