few varieties make me stop in my tracks and smile from ear to ear, but this is a complete package plant

Strong sturdy upright stems make it absolutely perfect for cutting and bringing into the house reaching around 85 to 90 cm tall and eventually forming a clump around 90 cm in diameter. It’s perfect for planting in the midsection of a mixed herbaceous border.

Plant it in full sun or partial shade and give it a little shelter as it’s capable of producing three or four flowers per stem so although they’re strong and sturdy, I would still advise giving this variety of support

Flowering in late May all the way through to the end of June the the foliage is deep dark green tinged with burgundy beetroot red which veins through the leaves and is mirrored on the stems and through the backs of the buds

The flowers are large measuring well in excess of 4 1/2 inches in diameter packed full of texture. They resemble a lotus flower structure and allowed small glimpses of the rich Golden stamen contained at the centre.

They are a rich service pink tinged with small amounts of burgundy and flushed with silver grey as it ages

A really lovely variety which gives you the wow factor
