EDIT:This edit is extremely super late but i kinda got bored of basically copy pasting the reply so,THIS IS HOW YOU FULLY UNINSTALL THE DRIVER SO YOU MAY TRY AGAIN JUST IN CASE ANYTHING WENT WRONG WITH ITS INSTALLATION:
In order to uninstall the driver as far as i know it isn't as simple as uninstalling playstation now.If you want to uninstall the driver you need to head to Add/Remove Programs and Features(you know,that window with the long list of programs and stuff),Scroll all the way down ,if the programs are sorted alphabetically,and find a thing called Windows Driver Package Sony Computer Entertainment Wireless Controller etc.,that is what you need to uninstall, then go ahead and remove playstation now aswell and try the installation again and see if any problem you had was resolved.

EDIT 2:Since Rocket League is Free on Epic Games Store i went and tried to get it to work with this method,and it does!What i did was add the epic games launcher exe to steam as a non-steam game and then i launched rocket league from it and everything worked flawlessly.If you cant find the launcher exe follow this path:Program files x86/Epic Games/Launcher/Engine/Binaries/Win64/EpicGamesLauncher.exe .Hope this works for you aswell and have fun!
