How the old gay couple and their old friends spend the Christmas.

In London's Covent Garden, a pair of old gay couple, Freddie (played by Ian McKellen) and Stuart (played by Derek Jacobi), have been living together for 48 years. Despite this long companionship, Stuart still tells his mother that they are just roommates. When they first met, Freddie was a budding actor, and Stuart was a barman. Now both are receiving their retirement pensions, and their sunset years are filled with walking the dog, reading newspapers, admiring handsome men, and the lively arguments at the head of the bed and peace at the foot.

As openly gay British veteran actors, the two main characters have participated in numerous film and stage productions. Their chemistry and interactions constitute the main highlights of this drama.
