I had no idea what I was doing. I hope you get a good laugh out of this. The car I was working on here only cost me $850 before I sold the body kit off it for $500 and the wheels for $900. I may have paid another $100 for the hard top, but that brown paint on this 280sl with trashed velour seats had to go anyway. This was a good car to learn how to do “the turtle.” It didn’t take me long after this to learn that standing the top up against something is far easier than getting on the ground to pick it up. And I certainly realized quickly that a broken driver door check can make it very difficult to do this. Check out my other “turtle” videos if you want to see me do a far better job at this.
