Pedro Jarque Krebs - Animal Photographer

Pedro Jarque Krebs is a highly acclaimed photographer from Lima, Peru, known for his captivating wildlife images. He earned a degree in Philosophy from the Sorbonne University in Paris. His photography career took off in 1983 when he won first prize in the Municipality of Lima's black-and-white photography competition. Since then, Jarque Krebs has amassed over 250 international awards and recognitions.
His achievements include five wins in the Sony World Photography Awards (2016, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022) and four consecutive wins at the Siena Creative Awards in Italy (2020–2023). In 2018, he was named the overall winner of Bird Photographer of the Year in the UK. He also secured 1st Prize in the 2017 Oasis Photo Contest (Italy) and was recognized among the Top 10 Photographers in the world at the Sente Antu Awards in China (2017). In 2021, he was a finalist in the prestigious Hasselblad Masters competition, and in 2023, he was the overall winner of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year award at the reFocus Awards.
In October 2016, National Geographic France named him "Photographer of the Month." His remarkable work was further celebrated in 2019 when teNeues, a renowned German publisher, released his book Fragile, which went on to win several international awards, including 1st prize at the International Photography Awards.
His second book, "WildLove" will be released in February 2025 by teNeues Publishing.
