Hi everyone! This is an episode that most of you have asked for and I have been eager to share. Here I will share with you the ways in which I built a new and much bigger crabitat/ vampire crab paludarium.

Vampire crabs are tiny but I wanted to give them more space to roam and create an environment that closely resembles their natural habitat. As vampire crabs were first discovered in Indonesia close to a slow moving stream, I just could not get that image of a stream out of my head.

So I manifested that stream in this new paludarium crabitat. It was hard at first, as I did not have any experience in building a paludarium at this scale. But I am very happy with how this crabitat turned out.

I hope you enjoy this video and do like or comment or even better subscribe to my channel as I continue to share stories of my vampire crabs.

Thanks for watching!

The Vampire Crab is a unique freshwater crab. An undescribed species of the genus Geosarma aristocratensis, Vampire Crabs are semi-terrestrial invertebrates that are native to regions of Southeast Asia.
They get their name from their glowing yellow, bright orange or red eyes and their habit of feeding nocturnally, from dusk to dawn.
The beautiful, purple crustaceans grow to be about two and a half inches wide with legs spread.
Also called panther crabs and carnival crabs, Vampire Crabs have an average life span of 2-3 years when cared for properly.
