Описание к видео Why India is called Bharat ?

So the question is: How did India get the name Bharat ?

There are three possible explanations
Originating from an Ancient Indo-Aryan Tribe named Bharata
Tracing back to a Legendary King Bharata mentioned in Mahabharata
Attributed to a Legendary King Bharata mentioned in Vishnu Purana

Let’s start with the ancient Indo - Aryan tribe Bharata.

To understand the Bharata tribe, first we need to understand Indo - European languages.
Many languages like English, French, and Spanish share similarity with Persian and Kurdish, Hindi, Bengali, and Punjabi etc. These are known as Indo - European languages.
This means there is a common ancestor that spread from a particular place to both parts of Europe, Iran and India.
So the question is where did this common ancestor come from?

Our story starts in 3300 BC during this time we have our 4 civilizations.

Mesopotamian Civilization
Egypt Civilization
Harappan Civilization
Chinese Civilization

During this time a nomadic and pastoralist Yamnaya culture lived in the Pontic-Caspian steppe from about 3300 to 2600 BCE.
They were skilled horsemen and warriors, who expanded their territory and influence with chariots and bronze weapons.
They also spoke Proto-Indo-European, a common language that gave rise to hundreds of languages spoken today, from English to Hindi.
We can reconstruct some of the oldest words from this ancient tongue, such as those for kinship and animals: mātḗr (mother), ph₂tḗr (father), bhréh₂tēr (brother), swésōr (sister), h₁éḱwos (horse), and h₂égni (fire).
The Yamnaya culture interacted with various local groups and created new cultures and languages as they expanded in different directions.

Some of the Yamnaya culture’s descendants include the Afanasevo culture in Siberia, the Corded Ware culture in northern Europe, the Catacomb culture in the western steppe, the Poltavka culture in the eastern steppe, and the Sintashta, Andronovo, and Srubnaya cultures in Central Asia.

The Indo-Iranian branch, which originated from the Sintashta and Andronovo cultures, slowly migrated towards India.
These Indo-Iranians lived in northern Afghanistan and Tajikistan for a few centuries.
The Indo-Aryan people slowly migrated to India and brought the Vedic culture and religion.
The Rigveda Samhita, the oldest known Sanskrit text, was composed in the northwestern region of the Indian subcontinent (present day India, Afghanistan and Pakistan) during this time (1900- 1200 BCE).
Aryans migrated to India in several waves through the passes in the northwestern mountains.
By 1600 BCE, the Indo-Aryans had established numerous
pastoral and farming villages across the fertile plains and valleys of northern India.

Several tribes of Aryans had settled in the parts of North Western India. Some of these tribes are Bharatas, Alina, Anu, Bhrigus, Bhalanas, Druhyus, Matsya, Purus.
These tribes were settled in parts known as Sapta Sindhu. Sapta Sindhu is a term that means “seven rivers'' in Sanskrit. It refers to the land and culture of the Rigvedic Aryans, The seven rivers are:

Sindhu (Indus)
Vitasta (Jhelum)
Asikni (Chenab)
Parusni (Ravi)
Vipas (Beas)
Sutudri (Sutlej)
Sarasvati (a mythical or lost river)

The Rigveda praises these rivers as sources of life, wealth, and inspiration. They also mark the boundaries and divisions of the different tribes and kingdoms of the Rigvedic Aryans.
Now around 1500 BCE the an Indo aryan tribe called as Bharata under King Sudas started expanding his kingdom
This enraged the other Indo Aryans tribes living there. The Purus led a coalition of these tribes against Bharatas. But the Bharathas defeated them under the leadership of their King Sudas.
