Reklaw Fly-In 2021

My Reklaw Fly-In story: In 1984, I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. Working as a lineman at the local airport, I saved and bought a Cessna 140 for six thousand dollars, and as a newly minted private pilot, flew to what I think was the First Annual Reklaw Fly-In at the nearby Flying M Ranch. Dave Mason, a few rv campers, and one other airplane (a Baby Ace, from Tyler) greeted me and served up burgers and good company along with the low overcast, drizzle and rain. A memorable first fly-in attended in my very own airplane. A contrast to the hundreds of airplanes in attendance in recent years. In the ensuing 37 years, I've made more than I've missed, often camping underwing and sharing the adventure with family and friends. Flying adventures have taken me to the far corners of the globe, and among the garden spots you'll find the Flying M Ranch. Thank you to Dave and all the enthusiasts through the years.
