Getting the Best From: FX55 Pt 3 - Perfecting Development Time.

Описание к видео Getting the Best From: FX55 Pt 3 - Perfecting Development Time.

In this weeks video I ascertain my development time with FX55 and Ilford FP4 Plus film. We are really locking in our film/developer combination now, and refining our process as we strive for better and better negatives.

In this video I omitted to explain what to do if the second or third test negative was the one that gives zone 9 on paper. Please find instructions for working out your iso in this situation in an earlier video of mine at around 4' 25'':

In that video I use a Nikon F100 with third stop increments but with many viewers wanting to do this test with a more straightforward cameras I opted for half stops in this with my Pentax MX. A half stop is a little under 2/3 of a stop, so, as an example, if instead of the first test negative, the second test negative showed zone 9 it would have been 1/2 stop difference (I opened the lens 1/2 stop for the second test negative) so I would interpret that as 2/3 of a stop difference in my film EI on my exposure meter. Let me give an example. In this video, we started our zone 9 tests at EI 200. If the second zone 9 test negative gave zone 9 on paper instead I would set EI 200 minus 2/3 stop = EI 125. Use 2/3 of a stop rather than 1/3 because it's better to have a little more light than not enough. Thank you Kieth for pointing this omission out.
