Invasion around Looe Part One

In the summer of 1940 invasion was thought to be imminent. As stop lines were being prepared along the south west peninsula to prevent a two pronged invasion through Kent and through the south west, the beaches of the south Cornish coast were considered the most likely landing grounds. In the area around Looe Bay a number of defences were prepared. This two part video looks at what was done and what remains of those defences today.

Part One - covers the area from Talland Bay past Hannafore Point to the Looe Harbour entrance and the East Looe River.

Part Two - covers the area from East Looe beach along the coast to Plaidy, Millendreath and Seaton.
