Описание к видео Indian Army Officials VS Hindu Reporter: Did Pakistan Really Down India's Rafale Fighter Jets?

"Are you surprised that you got this question?"

At the tail end of the Indian Defence Forces’ Joint Briefing on Operation Sindoor on Sunday, a reporter from The Hindu asked Air Marshal AK Bharti to respond to Pakistan's claims, and reports in international media, that it had shot down an unconfirmed number of India's Rafale fighter jets on 7-8 May.

The Hindu had published an article amid heightened India-Pakistan military tensions, suggesting that Pakistan shot down Indian aircraft, but later deleted the article citing no official confirmation from Indian authorities.

When the reporter was selected to ask a question, in a light-hearted jab, Maj Gen SS Sharda asked the reporter, “Are you surprised that you got this question?”

A brief laugh erupted from the crowd, with the reporter responding “No, sir!” before posing his question to the DGAO.

“I’m glad you asked this question," said DGAO Bharti, explaining that India was in a combat scenario and "losses are a part of war." He added that India had achieved the objective of destroying terrorist camps in Pakistan, which should be the focus of the discussion, instead of military losses.

Bharti chose not to divulge details regarding military asset losses during the operation, citing national security concerns, but confirmed that all Indian pilots "are safely back home".

Amid Pakistan's baseless claims of downing three of India's Rafale jets, international media outlets, like CNN and Reuters, had published reports citing top French and US intelligence officials confirming that at least one Rafale had indeed been downed by Pakistan.

As India has refused to confirm these reports amid the military conflict with Pakistan, further details on their veracity may only surface once tensions thaw.
